Sarah Brown
is doing the Orwell 25 mile walk.
She would really appreciate your support.
For the last 3 and a half years I have been volunteering at this fabulous charity, which was started at the beginning of original lock down.
It started in a lounge, which grew to an allotment shed, onto a church hall, and is now situated at The Meeting Place in Ip1.
As a team, we support families local to us who are in need of a little short term support.
Support can range from a bag of food to get them through the week, a couple of packs of nappies and wipes or finding them a new bed or pram.
If we can help we will!

As I'm sure you can appreciate these things don't come without donations, support and hard work, and of course the BEST TEAM.
So myself and group of friends are setting ourselves a challenge; we are doing the Orwell 25 mile walk.
We would really appreciate your support, with a donation of any sort.
This support will enable us to carry on being a lifeline to some, give support to others and generally be a point of call to be there for whoever needs it.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!
A big Thank You
to the customers of Morrisons
who donate so kindly each week
and allow us to do what we do.
We are not all in the same boat.
We are all in the same storm.
Some have yachts.
Some have canoes.
Some are drowning.
Just be kind and help wherever you can.
Morrisons make it easier for its customers to feed people in need by launching food parcels that can be bought
and then donated at the checkout.Morrisons customers can purchase pre-packed bags of groceries designed around the needs of local food banks such as IpswichFamilyBank.
Food banks are often overwhelmed by products such as rice and pasta and short of other items that people actually need.
The supermarket’s new ‘Pick Up Packs’ cost between £1 and £3 and contain a mix of food products that have been requested by the local food bank based on their local needs.
The pre-packed parcels mean that customers don’t need to spend time browsing the shelves for items to donate.
Customers can easily pick one up at the start of their shop and pay for it at the till with the rest of their shopping.
The pack is then put aside and collected by volunteers working for the food bank.
The ‘Pick Up Pack’ initiative is part of Morrisons drive to restock Britain’s food banks and continue feeding the nation, particularly those who are vulnerable and struggling with the economic fallout of COVID-19 and the cost of living crisis.

HOW WE TRY TO HELP
We are a charitable organisation based in Ipswich and surrounding area and our small team consists of a group of volunteers who help families of all ages from pre-birth through to adulthood.
We are aware that some families and individuals are experiencing financial hardship and are struggling to cope with day-to-day living.
Since the recent price increases it has all got a bit harder for some people.
Individual requests for help are received by our team via our Facebook page.
These are alongside telephone requests from Schools, Health Visitors, Mid-wives, Nurseries and Children’s Centres.
So how do we help these families?
Having received the request, we immediately provide some breathing space to the struggling family or individual by offering a one-off food hamper. Having then made face to face contact we listen, understand and identity what is required and then try to supply these basic, necessary family items.
The food hampers are made up from donations from Morrisons, Asda, Lidl and Suffolk County Council.
Their other needs are supplied by a redistribution of donations from friends, families and our Facebook supporters.
These donations consist of toys, clothes and the necessities that babies, children and also parents require.
We are then able to support them further with a refer to other agencies like Citizens’ Advice and Debt Management.

Recently we have received 2 very generous cash donations from Crystal, Colin and Adam Glencastle. This allows us to deliver to our families a “Monthly Fresh-Food-Bag” alongside the “Weekly-Food-Bag”. What also helped was the discount on the produce from Paula and Jools, our Angels at Morrisons. So we say A big Thank You.
